USCM - USS Montero - Cryogenics Compartment

And a very happy Colonial Marine Corp Monday to you all!  Today's entry for Colonial Marine Corp Monday is a test-render of my current project for Aliens: Renaissance.  It's the cryogenics compartment of the USS Montero, the Connestoga-class USCM transport and sister-ship to the USS Sulaco as seen in the film Aliens.  "Man, this floor is freezing!"

With this render, I'm trying a new lighting and rendering technique.  I didn't use soft-shadows for this image, which I normally use, but I've learned that it gives much better detail to the faces of characters imported from Daz Studio.  (And it renders a LOT faster - bonus!)  As with pretty much all my models and characters, this isn't finished, and it's definitely nowhere near 100% accurate.  But it's better than nuthin'. 

So, what are your thoughts on this rendering technique?  Is it an improvement, do you like it more than my other interior renders, that were done using soft-shadows?
